Rafael dos Anjos Interested in Potential Matchup with Conor McGregor

Rafael dos Anjos expressed interest in eventually facing Conor McGregor, noting that such a matchup would be an exciting opportunity. The two were originally scheduled to compete for the lightweight title at UFC 197 in 2016 before dos Anjos withdrew due to injury. Despite this long-standing history, dos Anjos stated he refuses to wait indefinitely for the fight, drawing a comparison to Michael Chandler’s long wait for a McGregor bout that never materialized.

McGregor, who has not won a fight in over six years, is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained during his recent fight against Max Holloway at UFC 329. Dos Anjos, who recently returned from his own ACL injury, acknowledged the physical challenges of recovery but questioned whether McGregor retains the necessary motivation to compete. Dos Anjos is set to mark his 50th professional fight this Saturday at UFC 332 against Alexander Hernandez.
