Tony Ferguson Claims Credit for Arman Tsarukyan's UFC 331 Knockout Technique

During the co-main event of UFC 331 on September 19, 2026, Arman Tsarukyan defeated Mauricio Ruffy with a late first-round elbow strike. The event took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Tony Ferguson told Fred Talks Fighting that he showed the specific elbow technique to Tsarukyan while the two trained together in Thailand during their Hype Fighting days. Ferguson credited the move to a friend he met at the Reign Training Center.

Following his victory, the 29-year-old Tsarukyan is anticipated to compete for the UFC lightweight title in early 2027. Ferguson, 42, is scheduled to defend his Misfits middleweight title against Mahmoud Sebie this weekend in Miami.
