Alistair Overeem calls for boxing match against Rico Verhoeven

Alistair Overeem has expressed interest in competing on the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua boxing card scheduled for December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. In a social media post, the veteran fighter challenged heavyweight kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven to a bout, telling him to stop hiding.

The two fighters were previously scheduled to face off in 2021, but the matchup was canceled after Overeem sustained an injury. Verhoeven is coming off a boxing debut in May against Oleksandr Usyk, while Overeem last competed in kickboxing in 2022, a victory that was later overturned due to a doping violation.
