UFC Releases Undefeated Top-10 Bantamweight Farid Basharat

Farid Basharat, who held the No. 9 spot in the bantamweight rankings, has been released by the UFC. According to reports, the 29-year-old fighter is leaving the promotion after fighting out his contract. Basharat holds an undefeated professional record of 17-0, with seven of those victories occurring inside the Octagon.

During his tenure with the promotion, Basharat secured wins over notable opponents such as Chris Gutierrez, Jean Matsumoto, and Taylor Lapilus. Despite his technical approach and high work rate, only one of his UFC victories resulted in a stoppage. His release follows a similar move made by the organization regarding his brother last year.
