Jean Silva Backs Carlos Prates for Potential Title Fight Against Islam Makhachev

Jean Silva stated that he believes Carlos Prates would pose a significant threat to Islam Makhachev in a potential welterweight title bout. Silva suggested that Makhachev would likely be hesitant to engage in a stand-up exchange with Prates, citing Prates' knockout power compared to previous opponents.

Prates has reportedly begun training for a rumored title fight, which could take place before Ramadan 2027. According to Silva, the five-round duration of a championship fight increases the likelihood that Prates would eventually land a decisive blow. Prates has previously stated his intention to secure a knockout victory if the fight occurs.
