Carlos Prates and Michael Morales set for interim welterweight title clash at UFC 336

UFC 336 will feature a pivotal welterweight matchup between No. 1-ranked Carlos Prates and No. 3-ranked Michael Morales. The bout is scheduled for January 30, 2027, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The fighters will compete for the interim 170-pound title, with the winner earning a future opportunity to face current division champion Islam Makhachev.

Jack Della Maddalena expressed his support for the booking, noting the importance of the matchup in addressing the current division bottleneck. While he acknowledged the power and size advantage of the undefeated Morales, he suggested that Prates may possess a broader range of tools to secure the victory. The event will also feature a flyweight title headliner between Joshua Van and Manel Kape.
