Dana White Discusses Booking Strategy for Josh Hokit

UFC CEO Dana White stated that he intentionally provided difficult matchups to undefeated heavyweight Josh Hokit after taking issue with the fighter’s controversial public comments. Hokit is scheduled to challenge undisputed heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 334 on November 14, 2026.

White noted that while he personally dislikes Hokit's rhetoric, the fighter successfully passed every test presented to him. This run included victories over Curtis Blaydes at UFC 327 and Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250. Despite the promotional friction, White confirmed that Hokit’s performance in the Octagon earned him the upcoming title opportunity.
