Colby Covington and Dillon Danis Scheduled for Hype Rome Grappling Match

Hype Fighting announced that former UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington and Dillon Danis will headline the upcoming Hype Rome event. The two competitors are set to clash in a submission-only grappling match.

Covington has been active under the Real American Freestyle (RAF) banner, where he currently holds a 5-0 record and the promotion's Cruiserweight Crossover title. The 38-year-old previously secured a technical fall victory against Danis at RAF 7 this past March. Covington is also scheduled to face Khamzat Chimaev at RAF Abu Dhabi on November 14.

Dillon Danis continues his pursuit of competition following his departure from Bellator MMA. Danis holds a recent loss to Chimaev at RAF 10 and a victory in an MMA exhibition against Warren Spencer at Misfits 22 in August 2025.
