Raul Rosas Jr. Secures Submission Victory Over Colby Covington

Raul Rosas Jr. claimed a quick victory over Colby Covington at the Hype Fighting event. Rosas accepted the grappling matchup on short notice as a replacement for Dillon Danis, utilizing an early takedown to gain control. After transitioning to Covington’s back, Rosas secured a rear naked choke, forcing a tapout less than one minute into the scheduled 10-minute contest.

Covington noted that the match served as his first foray into jiu-jitsu in several years. He stated that he felt slow during the exchange but remains focused on his upcoming transition back to wrestling. Covington is currently scheduled to face Khamzat Chimaev at an RAF event in Abu Dhabi in two weeks. Meanwhile, Rosas, who recently defeated Raoni Barcelos in the UFC, expressed his intent to pursue a UFC championship belt.
